DESCRIPTION:The Superhero 5k Run/Walk benefits CASA Youth Advocates and their services. \nCASA serves children and youth in Delaware and Chester counties by providing trained community volunteers to act as advocates for children & youth in the child welfare system. In 2024\, CASA served a record-breaking 328 children\, providing them with caring adults to help navigate uncertain times. Our goal is to ensure these children are heard and have access to the services they need to thrive. \nOur volunteers work tirelessly to make certain that the voices and needs of children are heard\, championing their right to stability\, equity\, and permanency. Through personalized support and consistent advocacy\, CASA volunteers build trusting relationships with the children they serve\, ensuring they have access to essential resources and a pathway to a brighter future. \nThe mission of CASA Youth Advocates is clear and powerful: Empowering community volunteers to connect with and champion children and youth involved in the child welfare system\, advocating for equity\, resources\, stability\, and permanency. SUMMARY:A Midsummer Night 5k Series
DESCRIPTION:The 15th Annual Midsummer 5k Race Series. \nThe 5k race will take place in the quiet and safe neighborhood surrounding South Ardmore Park\, Wynnewood Pa on the second Thursday evening of each Summer month. The course will consist of 3 circuits on a slightly rolling course called the “Ardmore Loop.” Awards will be provided for in each race for overall runners and age groups winners by the Bryn Mawr Running/Racing Company and Brooks. There will also be scoring for those who complete all three races. Runners will accumulate points in overall male/female categories along with their age group categories. Awards for the 3 combined races will be provided by one of our sponsors. \nThe event will be again be chip timed using the MYLAPS Run BibTag System by the Bryn Mawr Racing Co.  Brooks Podium Technical Midsummer Series T-shirts will be distributed at the JULY race or during race packet pickup the night before. \nAfter each race there will be an after party at Hykels Bar and Grill. Bring in your race bib for one complimentary beverage on us! \nPlease bring the whole family! A very popular kids race in South Ardmore Park will precede the 5K! \nRace proceeds will benefit Children’s and Shriner’s Hospitals of Philadelphia\, Lower Merion Parks and Recreation and the Bryn Mawr Running Club will also be beneficiaries. Since 2010\, we have raised over $65\,000 for these charities!! \nPlease be aware that summer evening races are at the mercy of pop up thunderstorms. We will run rain or shine\, if lightning\, we’ll hold off until it clears. If it’s an ongoing storm\, we’ll postpone. There are NO REFUNDS. howeve you can purchase race insurnace when registering. \nPacket Pickup:\nPPU will open at 6 pm on site at each race.
