DESCRIPTION:From the race site: \nOur 16th annual 5k run (or walk) is a single loop 5k and is professionally chip timed by Bryn Mawr Racing. The course takes you through a beautiful tree-lined neighborhood starting and finishing at St. Bernadette School on Bond & Turner Avenues in Drexel Hill. The even also features a 1-Mile Family Fun Walk and Dumpling Dash for the little ones (10 and under). \nIf participating virtually\, the 5k run/walk or the 1-Mile Family Fun Walk can take place anytime during the week leading up to the in-person race (11/23/24-11/30/24). You can run or walk through our traditional Turkey Trot route (choose the Bernie’s Route option when you register and the RaceJoy app will map it for you on your phone) – or – choose your own 5k route with the RaceJoy app. \nVIRTUAL RUNNERS: You will have a week (11/23/24 – 11/30/24) to submit your time online. Runners will be able to use the church hall lavatories and to stow their gear.  \n3) T-Shirts will be available on race day for participants.  Participants registered after 11/16 will not be guaranteed a shirt! \n4) Awards: We will announce the winners following completion of the race and awards will be given to the winners at that time.  \n**New for 2024**\nIntroducing the CJF Tiny Trot – a dash taking place immediately before the start of the 5K Run on Wexford Road between Sagamore Road and Brookline Blvd. Open exclusively to a limited number (50) of CJF PS\, PK and K students.  Tiny Trotters will receive a Tiny Trot t-shirt and medal for competing in the event! Tiny Trotters are permitted to participate in the Family Fun Walk with their registered parent/guardian. \nThe race will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the walkers starting immediately after the runners. The 5K run is a two loop course through the Brookline neighborhood which has been the same course as we have used in the past.  Walkers will walk the first section of the course and when they get to Brookline Blvd they will not turn on Alston\, but will walk directly back to Annunciation on the Blvd.  Walkers need to stay to the RIGHT while Runners will stay to the LEFT. \n** “Kick off to Christmas” Post Race Party – Join us after the race for kids crafts\, raffle baskets\, 50/50\, face painting and pictures with Santa! Choose from a 2.25-mile\, 3-mile or 5-mile loop that meanders through the neighborhoods behind the shop. All ages and paces are welcome. We depart promptly at 6:45 p.m. so come early! \nSOME ADDED PERKS\n\nOn holidays when the store is closed there is no group run; e.g. Labor Day or Memorial Day.\nJoin us on the 1st Monday of every month for post run pizza and beverages on us.
