Running 201 - Intermediate Running Class
Saturday, March 17 - Saturday, May 5
Are you running consistently, and able to comfortably complete a run of at least 4 miles? Would you like to run a 5k PR this spring or summer? Are you wondering how you can get faster? Join us for our Intermediate Running Class to be held on Saturday mornings at 8 A.M. for eight consecutive weeks beginning March 17. Participants should currently be running 3 to 4 miles per run, 3 to 4 times per week.
In Running 201, U.S. Olympian Kate (Fonshell) Taylor will teach about different methods of running to improve your pace and running economy. Incorporating days of higher intensity running into your regimen will prepare your body and mind to run faster. Class will cover topics such as intervals, threshold runs, fartlek, and hill repeats. Each class will be comprised of a brief lecture and a running workout that will include one of the training methods discussed. Cost of the class is $80.
At the end of eight weeks, we will go to a local 5k as a group and test our improved fitness. Registration form is below.
The Right Foot Forward Your Experience
At The Running Place, our goal is to ensure that you not only receive the right shoes, but also understand the reasons behind the choice. We provide free consultations, where we perform a gait analysis, inspect your worn out shoes for telling wear patterns, and talk with you about any injury history. All of this information helps us determine what shoe type is best for you.
Every journey begins with the first step. Before you take that first step, make sure you have the right shoes to get you where you are going. There are high arches, flat arches, and all heights in between. Some feet are rigid and some are flexible. There are different categories of shoes - different foot types are more comfortable and perform better in the right category. We will help you determine your foot type and which category best suits your needs.
