9th Annual Bournelyf Hand-to-Hand 5K Run/2 Mile Walk at Rustin High School
Bournelyf Special Camp is a local non-profit organization, founded in 1980, that is committed to creating physically challenging and empowering opportunities for youth with disabilities. The goal of the race is to raise money to be able to offer families tuition that is significantly lower than the actual cost.
The 5K race will be a great opportunity to hang out with the Bournelyf Family while supporting a great cause. There will be prizes awarded for the top male and female runners as well as age group awards. Once again, we will have a Camper Race around the track. Any past or current camper can participate for free in addition to the 5K Run/2 Mile Walk. This year, we will have a fundraising challenge along with the Camper Race. Family and friends can make donations in honor of a camper. The top fundraising camper will receive $200 off their tuition for camp this summer! Please come out and join us!

Clarke's Listening Walk at the Zoo 5K
This event begins with an exciting 5K Run throughout the Zoo followed by the Listening Scavenger Hunt. Last year we had 1,134 friends join us to explore the Philadelphia Zoo and we hope to have even more this year!
Clarke’s Listening Walk events are uniquely designed to show the public that children who are deaf or hard of hearing can listen and talk. These signature events, presented by Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech, raise awareness and support for Clarke and help ensure that more children and families have access to listening and spoken language therapy and education.
Unlike other walk fundraisers, Clarke’s Listening Walks are centered around a self-paced Listening Scavenger hunt. Children who are deaf or hard of hearing, and their friends and siblings, are encouraged to use their listening skills to discover new sounds, like the honk of a flamingo or the squeak of a bat, as they seek out the Listening Stops located throughout the Zoo.

The Right Foot Forward Your Experience
At The Running Place, our goal is to ensure that you not only receive the right shoes, but also understand the reasons behind the choice. We provide free consultations, where we perform a gait analysis, inspect your worn out shoes for telling wear patterns, and talk with you about any injury history. All of this information helps us determine what shoe type is best for you.
Every journey begins with the first step. Before you take that first step, make sure you have the right shoes to get you where you are going. There are high arches, flat arches, and all heights in between. Some feet are rigid and some are flexible. There are different categories of shoes - different foot types are more comfortable and perform better in the right category. We will help you determine your foot type and which category best suits your needs.
